What do you love most about your business?
That it is family; and I work every day with my family, for my family and I know that what I am contributing towards is something for our future generations.
What is something you wished you knew starting out?
Acknowledging all of the different hats you wear when working together as a family; sister, niece, director, organizer, daughter, employee. Knowing that you need to leave your director, organizer, employee hat at the office, and to leave the emotional hats (sister, daughter, aunt, niece) at home and try not to take everything personally.
What have you found to be the biggest hurdle to female leadership?
Balancing motherhood with a career and career aspirations.
What do you think are the top 3 habits to successful leadership?
Open, Caring and Honest
-
Open so that people will feel comfortable with you and approach you with ease
-
Caring so that people will feel safe, and know that you have their best interests at heart
- Honest so that people know you are trustworthy
What is the best advice you have received in business that has supported your success?
Be confident. Be confident in your decisions, and your own abilities.
What advice you would give to the next generation of female leaders?
Follow your heart, make the decision that you think is right for you and for now. Take up every opportunity you can with no regrets and treat people the way you would like to be treated.
